In which Bharata battles Gandharvas seven nights, looses the Saṃvarta weapon, founds two splendid cities, and returns to Rāma.

Yudhājit welcomes arriving Bharata with joy — Bharata and Yudhājit reach Gandharva city with army — Gandharvas roar and seek battle on every side — Armies fight dreadful seven-night battle without decision — Enraged Bharata looses dreadful Saṃvarta weapon of Kāla — Weapon fells three crores Gandharvas in an instant — Bharata founds Takṣaśilā for Takṣa and Puṣkarāvatī for Puṣkara — Bharata dwells five years and returns to Ayōdhyā pleasing Rāma
